One of the best parts of reading a good book is being able to imagine imaginary worlds in your mind, but Emma Taylor managed to get rid of those scenes (literally). The British artist has created incredible sculptures from old books found in flea markets and antique shops, giving new life to these abandoned titles.
"Book sculptures are my creative way of celebrating the little things in life," Taylor told My Modern Met. "A good book, a beautiful tree, a beautiful flower." From a ship sailing through a sea of paper to forests emerging between city centers, each piece is inspired by the stories in the original book. "With my scissors, glue and paper, and based on titles I found in antique and second-hand stores, I was able to recreate scenes of plants, animals, architecture and literature with all the detail I wanted on a manageable scale," said the artist .
