Learn step by step how to create a wood oven In this article we will show you how you can create your own wood oven, so you can enjoy a family Sunday. Wouldn't you like to have a wood oven in your garden or somewhere in your house?
This oven has a diameter of 0.90 centimeters and a very solid base is built, this is made with refractory bricks.
Later we use the mortar that we use, we can also use it to fill the joints of the interior bricks, the excess is cleaned to leave the face of the bricks visible. When the vault is being formed, one or another brick has to be cut so that they can be narrower on the inside and also give the round shape in the circular direction of each row.
When we have completed the dome, and all the external joints covered with refractory cement, we put a three-centimeter mantle of brick or mud on it, made with mud and dry grass suitable with a spatula and flattened as if it were cement cream.
The metal door and chimney can be purchased and it is also advisable to place a thermometer above the door to check the temperature.
After removing the mud, a fiberglass blanket is placed as additional insulation. A “chicken coop” type net is placed on top of the fiber. This serves as support for the 3 or 4 centimeter cement layer.
At this moment the mortar is placed very carefully so that it forms a homogeneous layer of the same thickness to give it the final round shape. Then we can start staining our oven and giving it the personalized touches we want.
